Content: - Introduce the word onomatopoeia and describe what it means - Read the story Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss - Build a word wall with the onomatopoeia's that were used in the story - List more words that are considered onomatopoeia's - Allow students to have fun saying the words with emphasis on the repeating sounds - Instruct students to create their own sentences using onomatopoeia's and post their sentences on our classroom Padlet- similar to the following below - Go over all of the sentences each student created with the class
